Born in April.

The year 2011.

I still remember how I was telling my friend about April having so many birthdays. Two of my icons, Sachin and Raghu too have taken born in April. But, it is amazing how I too got into the club even when I am a taurian of May.

April. Coming fresh from the tensions of exams in March, here comes a month that is special to all. The month when a new session at school starts. The first day in the New class. Same faces, new atmosphere. It is no less than a birthday.

April 2nd. A day has rightfully earned its place in the pantheon of India sport. The day when India once again made a tryst with destiny. “Dhoni finishes off in style. A magnificent strike into the crowd. India lift the world cup after 28 years.” As Ravi Shastri ushers those words, India starts to celebrate. Here we come on streets, going all patriotic. Fun all around. It is no less than a birthday.

April 29th. Not many know about it. The few shall remember. The day which gives me the reason to be born in April. This day, maybe for a moment, but I was reborn. Then was the claps bigger and better than any claps heard while cutting the birthday cake. “First with the headboy, Chetan Kejriwal” those were the words no less than the birthday rhyme. Still, I remain a taurian.

About Chetan

A twenty year old infant who fears if crows may shit on him or if Bengali aunties' umbrellas may prick him in the eye. He is currently waiting for Mamata Banerjee to leave Kolkata.
